The Electrical Engineering department is dedicated to providing quality education that prepares students for successful careers. Students graduating with a bachelor's degree will have the necessary technical, communication, and critical thinking skills as a basis for a successful, fulfilling and life-long career in electrical engineering.
The Department has recently put a great effort to update academic programs and teaching facilities as well. Several improvements in the undergraduate programs include: professional communications course and laboratory, an improved graduation project, courses in selected topics of current interest such as mobile communications, computer networks and information security are presently offered. Smart class rooms and meeting rooms, R & D laboratories, such as the Erickson lab, major laboratory software and hardware upgrading, such as the electrical power and the high voltage labs, are steps to upgrade the department facilities.
Goals
Goal I : Provide our graduates with the necessary knowledge and skills to practice and lead a successful engineering career.
Goal II : Emphasize on professional engineering principles during the study including ethics and responsiveness to safety, health, and environmental issues.
Goal III : Sustain an efficient and interesting program environment that encourages continuous self-learning and progress in career and in post-graduate studies.
Mission
The mission of the Department of Electrical Engineering is to provide an excellent and comprehensive undergraduate education in the field of electrical engineering. We shall be amongst the best in the region in providing quality education. We shall invoke the desire and ability of life-long learning in our graduates for pursuing successful career in engineering and postgraduate studies.
Vision
The vision of the Department of Electrical Engineering is to contribute to improving the well-being of the society by promoting the Electrical Engineering profession through providing well qualified Electrical Engineers who can perform and manage, learn and accumulate experience, respond to change, create and contribute to knowledge, and provide innovative products and services.
Chairman's Message

Welcome to the website of the Department of Electrical Engineering (EE), College of Engineering, King Saud University (KSU)
Since its establishment in 1962, the EE department has taken the lead in graduating elite electrical engineers who have had a great impact on advancing the progress observed in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for decades. This is because of the distinction of the department's academic role through the expertise and scientific competence of faculty members, the comprehensive of its program plans and courses, advanced laboratory equipment, and cutting-edge qualitative research.
The EE department aims to prepare electrical engineers who are able to contribute effectively in the design, development, and maintenance of various fields of electrical engineering such as communication systems, power and energy systems, control systems, and electronic systems. The department not only offers Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) programs but also offers Master of Science (M.Sc.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) programs in all these areas.
The EE department embraces a collection of faculty members who graduated from top international universities worldwide, creating a unique group of international expertise in one department. The department continues to develop its study plans in line with the latest developments in the field of electrical engineering, and in line with the needs of the industry. Therefore, its B.Sc. obtained the accreditation of both the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET and the national accreditation from the National Commission for Academic Accreditation and Assessment (NCAAA); whereas it is currently working to obtain the NCAAA accreditation for the postgraduate programs. The EE department comprises broad teaching and research laboratories for all areas of electrical engineering. Moreover, it hosts some unique advanced laboratories in the Middle East, such as high voltage laboratory, which internationally accredited laboratories for laboratory testing. The department is witnessing active research movements among faculty members, researchers, and graduate students; which enables the department to be among the highest productive departments in scientific research at KSU.
I invite you to browse this website for more information.
The Bachelor of Science Program in Electrical Engineering is Accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) of ABET.

The department makes an indispensable contribution to the development and advancement of the Kingdom. Department graduates play a vital role in all development plans of the country. They are heavily involved in construction, transportation, water, environment protection, project management and soil treatment engineering projects. The department is continuously updating the curricula of undergraduate and graduate programs to keep pace with the national and international developments.
Civil engineering is one of the main pillars of the advancement of any country through establishing the infrastructure projects necessary to the welfare of human being. Since its establishment, the civil engineering department has effectively contributed to the rapid development of the Kingdom. The graduates hold key positions in all governmental and private sectors.
The department is fully equipped with high quality laboratories and workshops that cover all aspects of civil engineering. These laboratories and workshops are subjected to a continuous updating to keep pace with the latest technology requirements.
The diverse areas of specialty associated with civil engineering provide the graduates with very good job opportunities both in the governmental and in the private sectors all over the Kingdom.
Objectives
Graduates of CE program are prepared to:
1. Implement civil engineering principles and knowledge to create systems, and provide services that meet society needs and improve the quality of life.
2. Increase personal knowledge and technical skills through professional and graduate study, certifications, and work responsibilities; and to be the preferred choice of employers.
3. Contribute time, knowledge and skills to the profession, community, and the world beyond job responsibilities.
Chairman Message

Welcome to the Department of Civil Engineering at King Saud University (KSU). Civil Engineering Department was established in 1962. Thus, we are one of the earliest Civil Engineering Departments in the nation. Currently, the department is being led by highly qualified academics, including 73 distinguished professors and 25 staff members committed to delivering excellence in education and guidance. More than 600 graduate and undergraduate students are enrolled in the department programs. In compliance with “Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030”, the department is employing its resources to conduct creative and innovative research in different fields, including energy uses, water resources and sustainable infrastructure.
It is our mission to maintain excellence in the quality and sustainability of the civil engineering industry, to provide the society with highly qualified civil engineers capable of meeting 21st century industrial challenges, and of serving the society through involvement in knowledge sharing, outreach, and professional activities (e.g., innovative research, developing new technologies, and continuing education and professional development).
