Welcome to the Department of Mechanical Engineering, King Saud University, one of the oldest engineering departments in Saudi Arabia, which was established in 1382 H with the beginning of the establishment of the Faculty of Engineering.
The Department offers a distinguished program in the field of Mechanical Engineering covering various fields in Mechanical Design, Advanced Manufacturing, Materials Engineering, Control and Vibration, Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer, Adaptation, Cooling and Integrated Power Systems.
The Department offers bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees in mechanical engineering as well as a master's degree in materials engineering sciences and participation in the award of a master's degree in desalination and nuclear engineering. The undergraduate program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, https://www.abet.org and the National Academic Accreditation (NCAAA).
The department aims to provide its students with the basic skills and knowledge in the field of mechanical engineering to meet the needs of the labor market. The department seeks to graduate engineers with high scientific and applied efficiency in order to provide the labor market with highly skilled graduates to suit the targeted areas in the different sectors of government and industry. Promoting a culture of creativity, innovation and self-learning among students in response to the rapid developments in modern technologies.
We thank you for your visit and invite you to explore our department and join us, and we are pleased to receive your comments and suggestions that will contribute to the development of the performance of the Department of Mechanical Engineering.

Welcome to King Saud University's Industrial Engineering Department (IED). In 1983, the Industrial Engineering Department was established. The industrial engineering department consists of a number of innovators, inventors, and thinkers in a wide variety of fields related to industrial engineering. As of right now, there are more than 40 employees working in the department of Industrial Engineering (faculty members, engineering technicians, and engineers). There are a number of undergraduate and graduate programs offered by IED. On the undergraduate level, the university offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering. The IED offers an M.Sc. and Ph.D. in three different tracks: Manufacturing Systems Engineering, Industrial Systems Engineering, and Human Factors and Safety Engineering. As part of its efforts to comply with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, the department is utilizing its resources to carry out research and development in a variety of fields, including energy consumption, 3D printing, and Internet of Things (IoT). As part of our mission, we aim to ensure excellence and quality in educational outcomes related to industrial engineering, so that we can provide the community with highly qualified industrial engineers that are able to exercise their creativity across a variety of engineering disciplines. Dear Visitor:
Welcome to the website of the Department of Chemical Engineering, King Saud University. Whatever the purpose of your visit, I hope you will find useful information here to enjoy your visit.
The Department of Chemical Engineering was established in 1394 H / 1974 to offer a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering. The program has been nationally and internationally accredited as mentioned on the Accreditation page.
The Department of Chemical Engineering is committed to educating engineers who are capable of contributing to the development of their country and the realization of its ambitious Vision 2030.
The Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering program aims to train chemical engineers who are capable of excelling in various chemical engineering professions such as in the petrochemical, water desalination, food, pharmaceutical, environmental, energy, mining, and other industries, and who are able to transition easily into other non-traditional careers as desired or needed, while possessing the lifelong learning skills to keep pace with the demands of future jobs.
The Department of Chemical Engineering also offers three graduate programs: a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering (1401 AH / 1981 AD), a Master of Science in Polymer Engineering (1429 AH / 2008 AD), and a Doctor of Philosophy in Chemical Engineering (1401 AH / 1981 AD). For more information, visit the Academic Programs page.
The department has two types of laboratories: student laboratories for laboratory experiments related to undergraduate courses and research laboratories where faculty members, researchers, and graduate students in the department can conduct their research work. In addition, there are computer laboratories that serve students and researchers.
The Department of Chemical Engineering maintains close links with industry in the Kingdom. It hosts the SABIC Center for Polymer Research, the first research chair established at King Saud University and then developed into a research center. The department is also linked to the research community through the relationships of its faculty members and researchers with their counterparts in national and international universities through the various collaborative research programs supported by the University
I hope I have given you an encouraging introduction to continue browsing the Chemical Engineering Department website.
If you do not find the information you need, please do not hesitate to contact us through the Contact Us page. We will be happy to assist you further.
Thank you!
