Summer Training Committee

The summer training is a requirement for student graduation from the college of Engineering; in the program, the student should spend at least 10 weeks of training in a government institution or a national corporation. During this period, the student will be exposed to real working environment; therefore, he will be better prepared to enter the world of employment after graduation.

Objectives of the committee

The committee helps the students accomplish the training by:
1. Providing them with a list of companies prepared to train them.
2. Giving them advices of the importance of the training for their future employment.
3. Evaluate the reports of the training submitted by the students.

Future Objectives

The committee is working toward the improvement of the program by trying to accomplish the following goals:
1. Assist the students to acquire the skills to apply for jobs, like writing a CV and personal interview.
2. Build a database of the training institutions.
3. Make a classification of these training institutions.
4. Prepare a feedback form concerning the performance and the satisfaction of the host institutions about the college students. To be sent with the training student.
5. Prepare thanks letter to the active training institutions.
6. Build a database of the college graduating students in different departments.
7. Establish an employment center in the college with the collaboration of active corporations.

Tasks of the committee

The mission of the committee consists of performing the following tasks:
1. Administer the summer training program.
2. Collect, expand and maintain the relevant information about the institutions. Make the necessary updates in an annual basis.
3. Make the necessary Contacts to obtain training opportunities for the different departments.
4. Distribute the training opportunities among the requesting students according to their request and the number of existing occasions, and tackle any related problems.
5. Make the necessary arrangement for the companies which have specific requirements about the students to be trained.
6. Solve the students' problem whenever possible after the training.
7. Evaluate the weekly and secret reports about the students' training.
8. Ensure that the graduating students have finished all the training requirements.
