Goals and Objectives of Civil Engineering Program (CEP)

CEP major goals are as follows;

 

G1: Implement civil engineering principles and knowledge to create systems, and provide services that meet society needs and improve the quality of life.

G2: Increase personal knowledge and technical skills through professional and graduate study, certifications, and work responsibilities; and to be the preferred choice of employers.

G3: Contribute time, knowledge and skills to the profession, community, and the world beyond job responsibilities.

G4. Provide high quality educational, research and scientific environment for students and faculty to support and serve the civil engineering industry.

 

The strategic objectives of CEP are listed as follows;

 

OBJ 1. Evaluate continuously the curriculum of the CE program to meet the industrial needs, and national and international standards.

 

 OBJ 2. Provide supportive means to the learning processes for students and enhance their interpersonal skills which enable them to work successfully in the profession.    

 

OBJ 3. Create a qualified undergraduate learning environment in civil engineering education.

 

OBJ4. Prepare students with adequate engineering knowledge and technical competency to work effectively as civil engineers in consulting, industry, government and academia.

 

OBJ 5. Establish a qualified research environment and create strong links for serving industry needs through active involvement.
