Industry Advisory Board

The department recognizes the importance of a frequent and comprehensive external review to ensure that the needs of the department constituencies are satisfied. Therefore, in the first semester of the academic year 2007-2008 an industrial advisory board was established. The industrial advisory board is comprised of selected representatives from the industry, government, academia and other segments of the profession. The role of the industrial advisory board is to advise the department on academic issues, and current trends and future directions in petroleum and natural gas engineering. More specifically, the industrial advisory board mission is to:

• Advice to the PGED on specific academic, professional and research issues.
• The link between the PGED and the oil and gas industry.
• Identify actions that the PGED should take to meet special needs.
• Provide the recommendations or initiatives that the PGED should undertake to continuously improve the education and research programs.

Meetings of the IAB are held in the venue of King Saud University. Three meetings were held up-to-date and the fourth one will be held within the duration of the evaluation visit.
