Dynamics and Control
Dynamics and Control
Dynamics and Control is a rich subject involving interdisciplinary research on the modelling and control of mechanical, electrical, fluid and thermal systems. The study of dynamics deals with analysing how a system changes over time. In order to evaluate the dynamic behaviour of a system and measure its performance, new control systems evolved over time, such as microprocessor controllers, PLCs, sensors, and CNCs are some of the common types. In the case of mechanical systems, the mechanisms are becoming more complex and more innovative. As a consequence, the machinery is becoming increasingly reliant on control systems of all kinds in our everyday lives. The current research areas of the Dynamics and Control group include Modeling and simulation, Vibrations, Control applications, Robotics, and Theory of machines and mechanisms. The Department provides a variety of graduate as well as undergraduate courses that prepare students to meet the needs of industry and academia.
