Procedures to apply for Summer training.

Practical Training Requirements and Procedures  

The following list describes its requirements and procedure:

A student is allowed to register for the practical training after successfully completing 110 credit-hours through the student portal (e-educate). No other courses are allowed for him to register during the practical training period. The student can go through two routes either choose one of the college available training opportunities or get training opportunity for himself.

College available training opportunities procedure

  • Local companies are contacted by Vice Dean for Academic Affairs to enquire about the possibilities of training the department students and the number of students that can be accepted.
  • Replies from companies are kept in the electronic system of the college.
  • All available training opportunities are sent to the department, and announced by the department for students.
  • Students fill in a form for the practical training and submit it to the department Practical Training Committee showing his choice of companies.
  • Vice Dean officially contacts the companies and secures the placement of students.
  • Students must get the training for the period is 10 weeks and submit weekly reports to the convener of the department committee for practical training.
  • Company reports a confidential assessment of the student performance to the department.
  • Department allocates the grade of the training as pass or fail based on the company evaluation and weekly reports

Outside college available opportunities procedure

  • In the event that the student wants to apply to a specific company/firm, it is necessary to download an application form on the opportunity outside the available opportunities for training (shown below) and fill in the complete data and then save it in PDF format and send it to the training company.
  • The student sends the letter to the training company and communicates with them until the response and sending the training program. 
  • In the event that the company approves the training, the student sends the approval to the training supervisor in his department with the training program for accreditation.
  • The student’s training at the company is approved based on the training program sent by the department’s training supervisor.
  • The college’s training unit is contacted to issue an official training letter.
  • The student receives the letter in PDF via e-mail and delivers it to the company as an accreditation from the college to train the student in the relevant company.
  • Students must get the training for the period is 10 weeks and submit weekly reports to the convener of the department committee for practical training.
  • Company reports a confidential assessment of the student performance to the department.
  • Department allocates the grade of the training as pass or fail based on the company evaluation and weekly
