•    Completion of no fewer than 6 courses (18 credit hours) from the doctoral-level courses. These include one course from the common courses and five courses from the specialized courses in one of the branches of civil engineering.
•    Passing a comprehensive exam in the specialized field or any subfields deemed necessary by the department.
•    Preparation of a dissertation characterized by originality and innovation.
•    To obtain a doctoral degree, it is required to publish a scientific paper in a classified scientific journal, with the student being the first author.
