requirements

The Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Civil Engineering at KSU offers two study plans/options and to graduate with a Master of Science in Civil Engineering, students must complete:  

Plan A: Thesis-option

  • Coursework:      Complete 26 credit hours, including:

    • 9       credit hours of common courses.

    • 15       credit hours of specialized Civil Engineering courses.

    • 1       credit hour for the thesis proposal preparation.

    • 1       credit hour for the M.Sc. thesis.

  • Research      Output: Produce scientific output in one of the following forms:

    • Publishing       a scientific paper in a journal.

    • Publishing       a scientific paper in a conference.

    • Registering       a patent

Plan B: Coursework-option (non-thesis)

  • Coursework:      Complete 39 credit hours, including:

    • 6       credit hours of compulsory math courses.

    • 12       credit hours of core courses from the desired track.

    • 21       credit hours of elective courses.

  • Research/graduation      Project: Completion and successful defense of a research project (3      credit hours).
